WebPAWS Atlanta has a limited amount of space for homeless cats and dogs at our shelter, and there are many more than we can house needing rescue. Our foster program allows us to rescue more animals, and it also gives us the opportunity to better socialize and learn about the pets in our care before they go up for adoption. WebWe were thrilled when DeKalb County began building a new animal shelter in 2016, and in July of 2024, DCAS moved into a brand new, 33,440 square foot facility, located in Chamblee, allowing us to expand our services and animal care. We continue to partner with DeKalb County Animal Enforcement, managed by the DeKalb County Police Department.
