Webb11 juni 2014 · Basically, on my pistons at least, the spiral lock retainers used to hold the pistons on the rods can be installed two different ways.....at least they were on my engine anyhow. 1.) One piston had the open section of the ring opposite of the piston notch. 2.) The other piston had the spiral lock opening pretty close to the piston cut out notch.
